Back to the Motherland

So I just picked up my CDs from Discpartner Berlin. I can highly recommend them, they were all super sweet and helpful. Moreover they were so fast and efficient!

So now, one CD goes to New York for the agent to place in film/tv and one to California Radio 101 to promote...cross your fingers...I hope that they will play me here in Berlin too!

Just sent out my first myspace event ever and doing a blitzkrieg campaign for the new EP to raise funding for the trip.

My bag has been packed for a month now, my bank account is down to 400 Euros so when I get back I will need a job!!!! Unless CD sales increase and I get famous in the interim...

I am not sure what to do with Jasmine's ashes. I guess they will just sit on my desk. I am so tired of these past months. Everything just seemed to go wrong no matter how hard I tried to get things right. I am so happy to leave 2009 behind me. I am also so tired emotionally from working so hard all year and having so many disappointments with people.

I have only one resolution this year. It is to be cautious with who I let into my life. I used to think, be kind and it always comes back. You give what you want. Kindness is a strength. I still believe in Karma but there are too many idiots out there who are too narcissistic and damaged to "get it". Since I made my resolution, I have only had nice people around me and I am starting to feel strong again. Let's hope I stick to it!

Tomorrow I need to get my shots. A cute doctor who seemed slightly surprised when I said I was off to Africa for 2 months. I think people in my area think I am a bit eccentric. But that is ok. I read that chosing to fit in with a flock mentality basically demeans you to the LOWEST common denominator as a social unit and does not require much individual action, accountability, or plain freaking balls.... (Deepak Chopra paraphrased artistically) so who the %^&^&%^ wants to fit in? It sounds so very dull and uneventful.

Some more business to take care of for my company, accounting etc and then I guess I am free... I travel light.....

I have that one bag which I filled with clothes I can use there but also give away to the children in the local community, a mini guitar for practice purposes but that I can also leave if someone needs it , and my lab top with info, songs, tv series....which I will NOT be giving away....oh maybe if they need it in the local school.....we will see...

A bit nerveous about how much hard work it will be. Getting up early every day, building fences, wildlife training, and all the studying. Some personal challenges will be
to shoot a rifle well
to pass the game ranger test
not get freaked out by insects and snakes if we have to sleep outdoors
stay alive?

but mostly I am just excited. Only thing I do not like the thought of (aside from crawling insects and snakes) is that we have to wear a uniform and shirts. I hate shirts. I cannot stand the constricted feeling of shirts. I would prefer if we could wear comfort clothes like T shirts and jeans. But I guess I can compromise. I will just have to learn to wear a shirt for the sake of the work.

Well I think I am ready. Things are falling into place. I will not miss the winter in Berlin!
